Mr T(shirt)
One of these days I promise I will eventually get around to scanning in some personal work, something I feel reflects what I do most of, but until then I'm going to show other things I've done.
A while back, a friend of mine asked me if I would do him a T-shirt design for the band he drums for, Scrapbook Heros, so I obliged and this is what I came up with!
This isn't the full design, as someone else made the text, and the colour of the cacti was significantly more acidic, once I get hold of a copy of the T-shirt I'll model it in all it's glory... This T-shirt turned out to be a lot of fun, especially working in a format totally alien to my usual style, and I feel I learned valuable lessons about things like how to use the pen tool...
I will update things that are sketchbook related next, honestly...
While you are waiting you can check these things out:
The guys at Balloonshop churn some coal.
Midlake make beautiful music in a psychedelic Belle & Sebastian kind of way
Michael Dryden obsesses over balls.
Arthur Hamer captures people in a slightly creepily accurate way.
that's all for now. If I'm not back in a week, don't be cross.

Use the Faust...
I love how bad you can make puns for blog posts.
Here's the final image for the poster project, which I really really enjoyed! So if you need any posters done... well. yes.

It was a different illustrator, you understand...
So, one day I will actually post something I have drawn (I do still draw) but for now here are a load of rough's for my latest project, entitled "Posters" the brief I chose was to illustrate ENO's rendition of "Faust" which I looked at as an opportunity to try something new (hopefully with more success than the 3D project).
These are a series of rough's that came from a set of sketches done in paper... arty.
These two are my favorites, but I can't decide if ENO face is a good idea or no?
I tried Futura, but was less impressed, but having upset a couple of graphic designers with the Helvetica ones, i think I'm gonna stick with that, at least until I get told off by the tutours for using it.
I've been listening to a load of the Album Leaf recently, really nice to work to.
AND, check this out: sing sang sung

Eventually I'll form some sort of habit...
I've been told off repeatedly for not updating this regularly... which I guess is fair enough, blog followers are fickle folks, anyway, to stave off the inevitable, here is a picture of a piece of work that the tutors on my course didn't really agree with, and in retrospect I agree with them.
I'm re-doing most of this project, possibly paying more attention and not getting carried away with making toys...
anyway.
some day, I'll post some drawings, I would like to have done so by the end of the week. fat. chance.
I recently found a flump! how good is that!
